“Internet Wind-Bell” is an abstraction of the phenomenon on internet.

Communicating in SNS and e-mail, uploading photos, etc., people give influence to each other by using the web browser. And by that action, various cultural movement and new happenings arise everyday.

In Japan, there is an idiom “Kaze wo okosu (= generate the wind)” that means, “making a great impact “or “making something happen”.

The human body sensor in this “Internet Wind- Bell” turns on the electric fan when people pass by.

This represents the affect you mold irrespective of your will while drifting in internet world.

And by that generated wind, the wind-bell with UV printed web browser will ring.

When the wind is generated — in other words, when something has happened in the internet — various reactions occurs. Here, the ring of the wind-bell corresponds to that. The sound of a wind-bell is pleasant to the ear in summertime, but some will feel it as a jarring noise during off-season. The phenomenon of wind-bell swinging in the wind and ringing is the state of little noisy affairs that is always happening in the internet.

There are many UV printed browsers on the wind-bell. By printing browsers that people use personally, the noisy affairs are expressed more symbolically.

The wind-bell was also called “Fu-taku (= hanging bell)” and formerly used as a talisman in Japan. People believed that evils would be kept out from the sphere where the ring will resonate. I wish your favorite browser would avoid evils on internet.

インターネットにおけるコミュニケーションの現象を抽出したものです。

人々はインターネットのブラウザを使って、
SNSやメールでコミュニケーションをとったり、
動画をアップロードしたり、様々な方法でお互いに影響しあい、
その中で様々な文化や新しい出来事が毎日起こっています。

日本では大きな影響を及ぼしたり、
物事を起こしたりすることをを『風を起こす』と言ったりします。

このインターネット風鈴は、
人が通ると人感センサーによって
扇風機が回り始めます。

この人感センサーはあなたの意思に関わらずインターネットの世界を漂流している時、
なにかしら影響を及ぼしていることを表しています。

その風によってuvプリンターでブラウザが印刷された風鈴が鳴ります。

風が起こる時、つまりインターネットで何かが起こった時、様々な反応が起こります。
ここでは風鈴の音がそれにあたります。
風鈴の音は夏には心地よいですが、季節外れの時は耳障りに感じる人もいます。
風で風鈴達が揺れ、音が鳴る現象は
インターネットの中で起こっているいつものすこし騒がしい様子です。

風鈴にはたくさんのブラウザがuvプリンターで印刷されてますが、
個人が使っているブラウザを印刷することでその騒がしい様子をより象徴的に表しています。

そして日本ではもともと風鈴は、
風鐸（ふうたく）と言って厄除けとして使われていて、
この音が響く範囲には厄が及ばないという言われていました。

むしろ意思を持って風を起こす側としてのモチーフとして制作しました。
