is an artist, director, and designer based in Tokyo,
Currently pursuing a Master’s degree at the University of Tokyo Graduate School. Completed a B.A. in Design Informatics at Musashino Art University.
By weaving together heterogeneous functions and senses, and letting technology run in parallel with them, she seeks to open new thresholds of thought—points of departure at the boundary of perception. Her practice is oriented toward generating experiences that gently shift the existing scale of the senses, while exploring new forms of symbiosis that may reconfigure relationships between humans and other living beings.

In recent years, she has been creating works that question the evolution of organisms and plants by attaching artificial muscles to plants and engaging tactilely with robotics. She also presents an audiovisual installation at Tokyo International Cruise Terminal, in which a robot modeled on the leptocephalus, the larval form of the eel, swims together with humans, inviting viewers to reconsider the imaginative frameworks surrounding endangered species. Drawing on her research at the University of Tokyo, she has additionally developed works that apply the minute electrical energy generated by microbial fuel cells to other plants, gently stimulating their growth. Through such newly configured circuits of circulation, she explores perspectives that unearth latent connections between humans and nature and reconsider what it means to coexist.
From the summer of 2025, she will present a long-term installation, “Deep ground Resonance — Resonance in the Abyss of the Earth” (co-created with Dorita Takido and Yasuhiro Suzuki), at the co-creation facility “Comone” on the Nagoya University campus. In this work, sounds traveling through the soil are experienced as vibration, light, and reflections on the water’s surface; the piece is scheduled to be on view until 2028. She is currently enrolled in the Master’s program at the University of Tokyo Graduate School, tracing the fluctuations and crossings between “research” and “artistic expression” through her practice.

Her major recognitions include an Honorary Mention in the DIGITAL MUSICS & SOUND ART category at PRIX ARS ELECTRONICA & STARTS Prize 2017 for Bug’s Beat, a work that allows audiences to experience the footsteps of insects through sound and vibration, and the New Face Award in the Entertainment Division at the 18th Japan Media Arts Festival (2014) for Slime Synthesizer, a formless, fluid musical instrument. She has also been selected three times— in 2016, 2019, and 2024— for the Media Arts Creator Development Support Program.
